Race Report

Sample of feedback received:-

“Just got home after this event. Me and some friends ran tonight as part of a series of 10k’s that we’re doing to raise money for charity. All of us agreed your race had to be the most welcoming we’ve been to. All the marshals were very friendly and supportive, not to mention good at their jobs. The start/finish area was easy to use, not the case at lots of venues! And other runners were happy to cheer on the slower ones later on.
So please accept and pass on our thanks and congratulations to all involved”

“Please may I take this opportunity to tell you what a lovely, heart-warming experience the Walkington 10k is to participate in. I have taken part in the last 3 and although I am always one of those bringing up the rear, enjoy the night greatly. I started running to shift weight and entered my first 10k in order to keep me disciplined and training year round. Although there are many runners more mature than me who run much faster, the fact that I am 45 and 18st makes it a nightmare at times, especially the uphill gradients!, but what a sense of achievement at the end
From the superlative way it is marshalled to the encouragement given by all the marshals, residents and the other runners (most of whom pass me on the way back to their cars as I plod toward the finish line) I really feel it is something you and the good folks at Beverley A.C can take great pride in. There may be more prominent and ‘prestigious’ (not my words) 10k’s, but I doubt there is a friendlier & better organised one.
I will continue to be there each year and wish you continued success”
